The Legacy Project is helping to create the financial base for current and future generations to support this mission. The aspiration of the Chögyam Trungpa Legacy Project is to enhance, enrich, and further inspire existing institutions and the Shambhala world created by Chögyam Trungpa.
The Legacy Project supports the preservation, propagation and publication of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s dharma teachings. Our goals include the creation of CHELA, an online archive and learning community. Learn about all of our 25 Goals. Also learn about our new 25 Year Fund, which will support the publication and preservation of Chögyam Trungpa’s teachings for years to come.
The Legacy Project is part of the Shambhala mandala that Chögyam Trungpa established. The project is housed within Kalapa, the central governing structure of Shambhala, with the Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, Chögyam Trungpa’s eldest son and the lineage holder of Shambhala, and Lady Diana Mukpo, Trungpa Rinpoche’s wife, as its patrons. Our executive director and advisory board are appointed by the Sakyong.
