I. The St. Johnsbury ,Vermont Shambhala Center is offering an  8 week course on the Hinayana volume of the Profound Treasury. In the fall, sessions began with a sitting meditation, followed with videos of the Hinayana talks given by Judy Lief at the retreat ( with permission of Shambhala Pubs). We included some talks and contemplations by the discussion group leaders . ( Gail Flynn, Caroline DeMaio, Charlie Byron, Irini Rockwell, and Wayne Schoech). Each video, talk, contemplations and readings were followed by a lively discussion. In January, we are continuing with the Hinayana. We will proceed with the same format. However, in this series we will be offering the videos by Chogyam Trungpa teaching on The Path of Meditation. We will be studying and discussing Shamatha Vispashyana in more depth.,

II. The Northeast Kingdom PTOD study group

We meet twice a month, and rotate from home to home. We begin the evening with a lovely dinner and then sit, followed by a lively discussion of a chapter ( or two). Currently, we are in the middle of the Mahayana. The view is to go slow. ( We seem to be successful at that!) We have a very inspired group of practitioners and chefs!!
